My name is Marais Malan.

I'd been looking for this site for some time and were lucky enough to find it now. Had been in contact with some old buddies already but still waiting for others to respond.

I'd been in the unit ,F-coy, with Gerry Germano and Charles Evans. See Charles is registered on the forum under a callsign. Something wrong buddy? I am waiting for you to respond to my mail. Walley Frey and later the late Martin Geldenhuys were our Com Com's and of course oupa Van, Vungu Vungu, the old bastard.

I am farming just outside of Katima Mulilo in the Caprivi and passes by at Buffalo every once in a while. Sad to see how things were destroyed.

Anyway, looking forward to hear from somme more old manne!

Hey Marais,

Good to be back in touch. Thanks for the e-mail. And no, I did not have a hardon in the picture of me at Delville Wood. I got pulled into the picture despite my protestations about not being suitably dressed. I had just pulled up having ridden in from the UK .Bent double and squashed against a tank like I was for a good few hours, the blood wasn't exactly rushing back. It was an unfortunate aberration of the light. No really.

I will e-mail you JDP's address, he dropped me a line as well. He is keeping well and busy.

It sounds like you could fill your compound with people keen to get back to the Caprivi. Add me to that list, I'll lean on a shovel with the best of them.
